Williard Louden: June 2006 | First Street Gallery
Huge Turn Out for Louden Retrospective
Friday June 9, 2006 the First Street Gallery opened their summer season with a retrospective of the work of local artist Willard Louden. Nearly 300 people attended the three hour event.
Local art patrons were impressed by the magnitude of the exhibition which had over 175 of Mr. Louden’s beautiful landscapes and still-lifes. The crowd was treated to a lovely hors d’oeuvres table and libations that made the evening a glowing success.
Mr. Louden commented that he was overwhelmed to see the work hung in a gallery all at the same time. Although most of the work was from his private collection, works were also lent from private collections as well. This was the first exhibition to showcase all of his work spanning over 71 years of painting.
